About the event
I was talking to a good friend of mine a few weeks back and I suggested that she joins one of my yoga classes. She was very quick to say that she only believes in one God so she doesn't believe in yoga.
I always knew that some people don't understand exactly what yoga is all about. Of course it's true that there is a spiritual aspect of yoga, but it's not a religion and there is no right or wrong way of practicing. The art of yoga is about being kind to yourself and your needs, however that looks for you.
I feel like it's common knowledge that yoga is good for your mind, body, and spirit; but I find that the challenge is explaining to people that it's more than just about tricks, stretching and the Buddha's lessons.
I can go on and on about the benefits of yoga, but I want to be able to engage with you and to answer important questions that you may have for me. This is why I created the 'Why Yoga' workshop. This workshop is guided towards beginner yogi's, but anyone who is interested in learning about yoga is welcome to join!
We will go over the spiritual side of yoga and the science that supports the practice of yoga as a whole. I will use spiritual terms and scientific terms to reach a wide range of people who may be able to connect better with one or the other; or even for those who want to know the similarities, because it blew my mind when I first made the connections.
I will be hosting this 30 minute 'mini' workshop via skype two times a month.
